REPRESENTATIVES OF STUDENTS’ BODIES MET THE GOVERNOR

Commissioner, H&TE Pu Benjamina, IDAS along with representatives of students’ bodies of MZUSC and ACCJSU met the Hon’ble Governor today at Raj Bhavan. They apprised him of the current scenario regarding appointment of regular Vice Chancellor in Mizoram University. The student representatives also submitted a memorandum to the Hon’ble Governor urging him to intervene in the matter.

Hon’ble Governor Lt. Gen. Nirbhay Sharma PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.) shared the concern and reiterated that he is in frequent touch with the central government at the appropriate level. The government is keen on resolving the issue and is working towards it. In the meantime, he asked the students to carry on with their studies and to apprise him of the specific issues which have affected their studies due to the absence of a regular Vice Chancellor so as to enable him to address them straight away. He believes that the acting VC is doing well for the time being and be supported to run the University till the posting of permanent incumbent. He advised the faculty and the students not to lose sight of their primary goal of studies which should not to be disrupted on any count. He expects that a regular Vice Chancellor will be appointed soon.
