LUNGLEI; the 17th April,2024: Pi Ramdinliani, District Election Officer flagged off 13 polling parties from Dispatch Centre( Saikuti Hall), here in Lunglei. this morning at 7:00Am. Polling parties assigned to those polling stations located at far-flung villages which have poor road connectivity were mandated to leave dispatch centre two days ahead of Poll Day (P-2). Lunglei district has 13 numbers of such villages, as furnished below:

Under 34-Thorang (ST) Assembly Segment
1) Salmur
2) New Sachan
3) Mauzam
4) Terabonia
5) Dampui
6) Sumasumi
7) Tuikawi
Under 35-West Tuipui(ST) Assembly Segment :
1) Chengkawllui(Samuksury)
2) Ukdasari
3) Devasora
4) Bandiasora
5) Laihausa(Malsury)
6)      Puankhai

There are six (6) Assembly segments and 176 polling stations under Lunglei district, of these 176 PSs, 24 polling stations will be totally manned by women and all of them were located at Town Area itself. Excluding these 13 polling parties, the rest 163 numbers of polling parties will be leaving dispatch centre for their respective polling stations tomorrow (18/04/2024).

Speaking at the brief flagging-off programme, Pi Ramdinliani implored the polling officials to strictly adhere to the do’s and don’ts for the Polling officials, the roles and responsibilities and other many important things taught in the Training which they had undergone 3 times, so that Free and Fair Election can be carried out in their respective polling stations without any untoward incidents. She also wished them best of luck for their election endeavors  and safe journey.
