Kolasib dated 14th September 2022: On the occasion of the 9th Mizoram State Anti-Tobacco Day, the District Tobacco Control Cell, Kolasib disposed off 1073 cigarette cartons and 726 packets of gutkha product Shikhar, seized by the District Anti-Tobacco Squad.

The disposal of seized items, conducted at DC Office compound, was headed by Kolasib Deputy Commissioner Mr. John LT Sanga himself. Dr. C.Vanlalhlimpuia, Secretary, Anti-Tobacco Squad gave a report on the initiatives taken up by the ATS, mentioning that 11 Awareness Campaigns, 9 Trainings and 87 ATS Drives have been conducted since April 2021 within Kolasib district till date. Also, out of 312 patients treated in Tobacco Cessation Clinic there was 8.97 % quit rate.
