Aizawl,the 24th August, 2021: The DVO office,Siaha conducted Mass test for African Swine Fever (ASF) at Thiahra village and detected 52 infected pigs.To prevent the further spread of this deadly ASF, the DVO office, with the help of Thiahra  villagers, culled  these infected 52 pigs by gunshot, today itself and buried them in 10feet deep dug out pit. Age of infected pigs which were culled today, varied as follows 

1)Below 3 months-- 20 nos, 

2) Between 3 and 8 months--- - 11 nos

3) Above 8 months-- - 21 nos.

Death cases of Pigs occured first on 5th August,2021 and DVO office confirmed the cause of death as ASF on the 11th August  and pig deaths due to ASF till today totalled to 113.
