23rd September, 2026: Directorate of School Education, Government of Mizoram hosted the INTACH Heritage Quiz 2026, organized by the INTACH Mizoram Chapter on 23.09.2026 at the Conference Hall of School Education Directorate.

The quiz was held with the objective of creating awareness among school students about India’s rich and diverse heritage and encouraging the younger generation to take an active interest in the country’s history, culture, architecture and traditions as well as the North East including Mizoram’s own rich and interesting cultural heritage.

Mizoram being relatively a small State, the quiz programme was held only at Aizawl, the state capital wherein 14 schools saw participation from the leading schools with Sst. Pauls Higher Secondary Schools securing the first position, CLS Academy  securing the second position and Govt, Mizo Higher Secondary School securing the third position.

Smt Angela Zothanpuii, MCS, Director of School Education was the Chief Guest and Shri Rin Sanga IAS (Retd), State Convener, INTACH (Mizoram State Chapter), the Guest of Honour.

The event was coordinated and supported by School Education Department and members of INTACH Mizoram, including Prof JV Hluna, Co-Convenor, INTACH Mizoram State Chapter.

Prizes were given to the winning teams and certificates were given to all 56  participating students. The quiz was conducted by Quiz Master Dr Ruatdiki Hmar, Assistant Professor, Gov’t Kolasib College.

INTACH appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the schools and students and emphasized the importance of heritage education in developing awareness, appreciation and a sense of responsibility towards India’s cultural heritage.

he winning Team will later on participate in the Regional Finals to be announced by INTACH, Headquarters, New Delhi.
