Economics & Statistics Department organised an annual training on civil registration system for registrars of births & deaths (RBD) under Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) area for the year 2019-2020 yesterday (21.11.2019) at DRO Conference Hall, Lawngtlai.

Additional DC Pu B. Lalchhawntluanga, MCS graced the function and talked about the importance of registrars of births and deaths. It is a crime against the country to perform the duty of RBDs poorly, he said.

The programmme was chaired by Deputy Director of Economics & Statistics Department Pi Biakthansangi Hrahsel. Election Officer Pu Lalremruata Sailo and Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Pi S. Ngotlia also delivered a speech while District Research Officer Pi H. Chhunkungi proposed a vote of thanks.

The trainings were imparted by Inspector of Statistics Pi Lalfakawmi and Pu Ricky Lalhriatpuia. There was also a session of discussion and interaction.

This annual training will continue today where inspection of registers kept by RBDs and distribution of materials will take place.

Under Lawngtlai District, there are 84 numbers of Registrar of Births & Deaths within Lai Autonomous District Council area and 51 numbers of RBDs within Chakma Autonomous District Council area.
