Aizawl, 25th March, 2021: Art & Culture Minister Pu R.Lalzirliana graced the occasion of Mizoram Upa Pawl Saitual District General Assembly at Saitual Kohhran Gospel Centenary Hall as the chief guest yesterday.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister stressed the promotion of  Mizo ethics and its values from school level and the importance of teaching children the need to respect elders. He urged the elders of the community to give high priority to their health and well being. He said that it was the duty of youth to take care of their parents and grandparents. Pointing out that ageing increases one’s susceptibility to diseases and to address these challenges, the government must be prepared to give elders a happy joyous life. He also asked all stakeholders in the health sector to work for the well being of the elderly and stressed that good  health was the right of all, irrespective of age. He quoted that ‘by serving the elderly, one is blessed with long life.’
