AIZAWL; 31st August, 2026: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Aizawl District, in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), today organised a one-day “Awareness Programme on Financial Literacy and Retirement Planning” at the I&PR Auditorium, Aizawl.

Pu Zoramsiama Hmar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aizawl, graced the programme as the Guest of Honour and addressed the gathering. Heads of Offices in Aizawl District and Group ‘A’ officers serving under them attended the awareness programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Guest of Honour Pu Zoramsiama Hmar stated that financial literacy and retirement planning are areas which officers and educated persons may sometimes overlook or may not have adequate knowledge of. He expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to organise such an awareness programme in collaboration with SEBI. He further stated that the programme would be beneficial not only to the participating officers but also to the staff working under them.

During the awareness programme, SEBI official Pu Adwait Abhay Dahale and BSE-IPF (Bombay Stock Exchange – Investor Protection Fund) official Pu Anil Thakur imparted knowledge to the participants on the following topics:

1. Introduction to the Securities Market
2. Investment and Financial Planning
3. Investor Awareness and SEBI’s Grievance Redressal Mechanism against Ponzi Schemes and Financial Frauds
4. Retirement Planning and Safe Investment Practices
5. Tax Planning Strategies
6. Do’s and Don’ts of Investing

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Pi F. Lalnisai, Assistant Commissioner, Aizawl District.
