A four day long Capacity Building for NLUP Functionaries training programme started today at I&PR Conference Hall. Sponsored by NEC, the programme is jointly organised by National Insitute of Rural Development, North Eastern Regional Centre, Guwahati, SIRD, Mizoram and NLUP Implementing Board, Government of Mizoram. Nodal Officers of all eight line departments viz. Agriculture, Horticulture, A.H.& Vety., Soil & Water Conservation, Industries, Sericulture, Fisheries & Environment & Forests from all districts attended the programme where a number of critical knowledge inputs that have consequential implication for the effective planning and management of NLUP would be covered. Eminent experts from NIRD and SIRD will explain Village Development Plan, Integrated District Planning, Project Formulation & Management, Planning for Convergence, Market Intelligence, Micro Financing and other related topics.
Inaugurating the programme, Mr P.L.Thanga, IAS (Retd), Vice Chairman of NLUP Implementing Board thanked NIRD for organising the programme, and explained that such training programmes would be held as and when necessary in the future also. He thanked the Central Government for sponsoring the programme which showed their support and enthusiasm towards NLUP, and urged department officers to exert their best efforts in the implementation of NLUP so that NLUP would become a Model Project of development for the whole country.
