Chief Election Commissioner Shri V. S. Sampath, Election Commissioner Shri H. S. Brahma and Election Commissioner Dr. Syed Nasim Ahmad Zaidi reached Aizawl this afternoon on a one day visit to Mizoram to review the poll preparedness of the state for the upcoming Assembly elections. The CEC and ECs had a meeting with representatives of various political parties and NGOs of the state at the Conference Hall of the New Secretariat Complex. Thereafter they had a meeting with the DCs and SPs of the eight Districts wherein they reviewed the electoral scenario and the various processes that are being up in place for the conduct of smooth, free and fair elections in Mizoram.

The CEC and ECs will have a meeting tomorrow morning with the Chief Secretary, the DGP and the CEO. Thereafter they will meet the press and leave for Delhi.
