Aizawl the 26th October, 2021 : CEO Mizoram Shri P. Jawahar, IAS, today in his letter to President / General Secretary of all political parties, has requested for strict compliance on their part with the existing Model Code of Conduct.
In his letter, the CEO specifically pointed out MCC, Chapter 4.4.2 (B) (vii) which states : "Activities, which are corrupt practices or electoral offences such as bribery, undue influence, intimidation of voters, personation, canvassing within 100 meters of a polling station, holding of public meetings during the period of 72 hours ending with the hours fixed for the close of the poll and conveyance of voters to and from polling stations, are prohibited."
An extract copy of Chapter 4.4.2 (B) (vii) of Manual on Model Code of Conduct was also enclosed along with the letter, with request to comply with the said chapter of MCC during Bye-Election to 4-Tuirial (ST) Assembly Constituency.
