Dated Aizawl, the 16th October, 2024: The Regional Institute of Paramedical & Nursing Sciences (RIPANS), Mizoram, celebrated its 24th Graduation & Lamp Lighting Ceremony today at the Baptist Centre, Aizawl. The event was graced by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma as the Chief Guest.
In his address, Pu Lalduhoma commended the faculty and staff of RIPANS for their unwavering dedication and relentless efforts, which have made the institute a beacon of success. Since its inception in 1996, RIPANS has maintained a remarkable track record, with 100% of its 788 nursing graduates securing placements. The Chief Minister emphasized that RIPANS is not only a blessing for Mizoram but also for the entire Northeast region, contributing significantly to the development of healthcare professionals.
Addressing the 39 newly graduated B.Sc Nursing students, Pu Lalduhoma remarked, "You will serve as healers, advocates, educators, and leaders. More importantly, you will provide comfort and assurance to those in need, fulfilling a vital role in society." He also congratulated the 53 new students, hailing from the eight Northeastern states and Jammu & Kashmir, who were participating in the Lamp Lighting Ceremony. He encouraged them to stay resilient through the challenges ahead, reminding them of the noble purpose behind their chosen profession.
The ceremony also featured speeches from Prof. Sanjay D. Sawant, Director of RIPANS, and Prof. Lalfamkimi, Principal of the College of Nursing. The Lamp Lighter for the event was Pi C. Rothangpuii, Principal of the Nursing School in Lunglei.
RIPANS introduced its first batch of B.Sc Nursing students in 1996, and since then, 788 students have successfully graduated. The institute has consistently achieved 100% placement for its graduates. In January 2023, RIPANS expanded its academic offerings by launching an M.Sc Nursing program, which currently has 25 students enrolled. Presently, there are 196 students pursuing their B.Sc Nursing degrees at the institute.
