The Chief Minister held a policy briefing of the Road & Infrastructure Development Board today at the CM's Cabinet Meeting room to discuss roadmap for development activities in keeping with socio-economic development policy of the state. The Chief Minister, who is also the chairman of the board stressed on importance of road development, upon which all other asset creation and development activities are dependent upon, he commented.

Today's meeting, which is a first for the board, discussed issues on identification of the need and possibilities of new construction of roads with the aim to cater to economic activities, funding issues and road maintenance plans and monitoring mechanism.

Er. H. Lalzirliana, MLA is the Vice-Chairman of the Road & Infrastructure Development Board while Mr. J.C. Ramthanga, PWD Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary to CM is the member-secretary. Other members are Finance Department Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation Department Secretary, Urban Development & Poverty Implementation Department Secretary, PWD E-in-C, AMC Mayor, UD&PA Director and six eminent individuals. Mr. H. Rammawi, Vice Chairman of State Planning Board and Mr. C. Lalramzauva, Adviser to CM attended the meeting as invitees.
