Chief Minister Mr Lal Thanhawla today inaugurated an 11 month Training on Official Correspondences & Accounting for Contractual Engagements of MZU Graduates at Hrangbana College Hall.

Speaking on the ocassion, Mr Lal Thanhawla pointed out that as a Member of Finance Commission, he had felt that without efficient fiscal management, development & progress was not possible. The current practice of submitting Reconcilliation of Accounts at Shillong has created much inconveniences, and the Chief Minister stated that he had requested the CAG Mr V.K. Rai to make the Mizoram A.G. Office fully functional to avoid this problem. The Chief Minister informed the Graduates that the Training programme would open for them golden opportunities which they should try to make full use of. He mentioned that according to the 11th Plan document, India plans to create 70 million jobs by 2012 for which we need to develop the requisite skills. He informed the Graduates that they were part of that process, and they should therefore, show devotion and dedication in their training. The Chief Minister also explained that the Central Government was very open for the state of Mizoram, but due to lack of infrastructure and capital, we are not able to capitalize. He stated that the Institue of Mass Communications, Indian Institute of Technology and Institute of Fashion Technology have been trying to establish their institutions here in Mizoram, and the government was taking it up enthusiastically. He explained that lots of opportunities was opening up for the educated youths of the state, and they should prepare themselves accordingly.

The Accountant General, Mizoram Mr Vishal Bansal, IA&AS, and Mizoram University Vice Chancellor Prof. A.N.Rai also spoke on the inaugural function and thanked the Chief Minister for his strong support and encouragement towards the development of quality education in Mizoram.
