Dated Aizawl, the 21st July, 2023: Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Zoramthanga graced Govt. Hrangbana College Freshers' Social & Felicitation Programme as chief guest at the college Golden Hall today.

After releasing the new college annual magazine 'Herhse', Pu Zoramthanga in his speech congratulated the students who received awards as well as all the other successful students in the last University Examination. He also expressed his best wishes to all the freshers at the start of a new chapter of their education. He encouraged them to start their life-long journey well and fulfill their destiny with blessings in the future. He fervently advised them against falling prey to drugs or alcoholic addiction, otherwise they would surely drown in an accursed way of life. Instead, he said, they should possess a firm determination to become success adults in any walk of life they chose for livelihood. The Chief Minister also mentioned that Mizoram had been recently engulfed with various difficulties such as pandemic, animal diseases that had killed thousands of domestic animals as well as being flooded by refugees from our neighbouring states/countries. Inspite of these hurdles, the people of Mizoram must remember that God has been our help in the past and still continues to be our unshakeable anchor till today; and with firm resolve and solicitude for preserving our society and culture deep in our hearts, we will certainly overcome the challenges before us, he added.

Dr. H. Lalzidinga, Principal, Govt. Hrangbana College in his welcome speech thanked the Mizoram Government for the recent posting of six new faculties into the college. He also gave a brief report on the college, saying that they have 560 new enrolment of fresher students, among which, two students are from Tripura, three students from Assam and seven students from Manipur respectively.

In today's felicitation programme, the overall topper amongst their college students in the last Mizoram University Examination, Lalhriatpuia Ralte, Department of Commerce, was awarded 'R. Zatlaia Award'. 'Hrangbana Awards' were also given to twenty-two students who secured top ten (rank holders) in the University. Besides these, ten Merit Awards, Department Awards, Alumni Association Awards and Dr. Suprakash Maiti Awards were also gave away to various students on the occasion.
