Dated Aizawl, 1st September 2026: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma released a book titled "A tur a na tawh lo ve", authored by Pi Lalnunmawii, at the CM Conference Hall today.

The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation for Pi Lalnunmawii’s effort in bringing out a valuable book based on her 26 years of experience working in the care and rehabilitation of substance abusers. He noted that her deep dedication to continuing the fight against drugs is clearly reflected in the pages, calling her commitment truly admirable. Echoing the proverb "Those who have walked the path know the way," he observed that she intimately understands the struggles of addiction. He added that if active substance users, their families, and frontline anti-drug workers alike read this book, it would prove immensely beneficial.

He highlighted that the government places high priority on combating substance abuse, working vigorously in partnership with the YMA, churches, and various NGOs. He noted that initiatives in both supply reduction and demand reduction are consistently bearing positive results, leading to an observable scarcity of illicit drugs.

The Chief Minister stressed the need to reinforce the message that recovery from addiction is achievable. He affirmed that the government stands fully prepared to support those genuinely committed to recovery through various avenues. At the Hulhhliap Short Stay Centre, residents receive not only addiction recovery support but also vocational and skill training to help them achieve long-term self-reliance; 21 individuals from the centre have already received financial assistance under the CM Special Package via the Handholding Scheme. He expressed confidence that strengthening Aftercare Services will help individuals break the cycle of relapse following release from rehabilitation centres and achieve lasting recovery.

The program was chaired by CYMA President Pu R. Lalngheta. Pu Lallawmzuala Hauhnar presented a preview and review of the book, and the author, Pi Lalnunmawii, shared insights into her writing journey.
