Aizawl, the 4th August 2022 : Chief Secretary Dr. Renu Sharma yesterday held a virtual meeting with Deputy Commissioners of all 11 Districts where progress of three important programmes in the run up to the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence Celebration ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ – Har Ghar Tiranga; COVID Vaccination and Jal Jeevan Mission were reviewed.
The Deputy Commissioners presented the status report on these three programmes within their respective Districts and apprised the Chief Secretary on the progress of these programmes and initiatives. The Chief Secretary instructed all the DCs to take intensive efforts on public awareness of Har Ghar Tiranga so that maximum number of citizens are made aware of it and hoist/display the national tricolour in their homes and residences thereby ensuring maximum participation.
Under Har Ghar Tiranga, the Art & Culture Department is the nodal agency and 2 lakhs national flags have been procured for sale and distribution to the public. District Level Coordination Committees under the chairmanship of the respective DCs have been formed to oversee the sale and distribution of the national flags and ensure the success of this important programme. Besides, these banners have been distributed to the Health & Family Welfare Department for display in all PHCs and CHCs and also to the Transport Department for display in ISBT and other bus stations.
Principal Secretary, GAD Shri Navin Kumar Choudhury, IAS Principal Secretary H &FW; Secretary, Art & Culture, Secretary, PHE, Secretary I &PR, Mission Director NHM and Director Art & Culture also attended the virtual meeting.
