A meeting chaired by Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana, who holds the Higher & Technical Education portfolio held today decided that all colleges and institutions of higher learning in the state will reopen from 1st March 2021.
The meeting deliberated upon reopening of colleges and other academic institutions minutely and examined the SOPs enunciated for this purpose and made some modifications in the SOPs. Thereafter the meeting decided that all colleges and other academic institutions in the state will reopen from March 1, 2021. The meeting instructed college authorities to undertake mandatory thermal screening at the entrance and to follow all SOPs stringently without fail. The meeting also requested college authorities to remain vigilant in the adherence to dos and don’ts in respect to the pandemic.
The meeting was attended by Dr. ZR Thiamsanga, MLA, Vice Chairman, Health & Family Welfare Board; Dr. Vanlaltanpuia, MLA, Vice Chairman Higher & Technical Education Board and officials from the Health & Family Welfare, Higher & Technical Education and Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Departments.
