In pursuance of the order received from the State Government regarding the provision of Quarantine Centre at entry point,  Champhai District administration started constructing Quarantine Centre facilities at Land Custom Station Building at Zokhawthar, Indo-Myanmar Border town, by modifying it as per the convenience.  

Champhai DC Pu SL Naveen; SP Pu Rex Zarzoliana; Addl DC Pu Mark Lalthanliana; SDO Sadar Pu Lalnunfela Chawngthu and other officials today visited designated Quarantine Centre and inspected the ongoing preparations.  Until the construction of  the much awaited Quarantine Centre is completed, there will be no entry into Mizoram through Indo-Myanmar Border. After the completion, Zokhawthar gate will remain opened under stringent vigilance manned by medical screening team, Police and NGO’s duty.   All basic facilities will be  provided  to the people in quarantine i.e  for 14 days. 

In order to run the Quarantine Centre smoothly and as per regulations, Nodal Officer incharge were assigned today,  Pu Mark Lalthanliana, Addl DC Champhai as the Nodal Officer, Administration.  Pu RL Thianghlima, Principal, DIET Champhai as the Nodal Officer, Provisioning and  Pu Laldingliana Hrahsel,  EE,  I&WR Department Champhai as the Nodal Officer, Liaisoning.   

Preparation of Quarantine Centre stared this morning, and is expected to complete within a short period of time. It is designed to accomodate 20 people,  facilities like Kitchen, Beds, Toilets, Medical items, Security and other requirements will be  borned by the State Government.
