19.09.2023 : The Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Aizawl recently held its Convocation for the ITI pass out students on September 15, 2023. 219 final year trainees have successfully completed their courses.
The Chief Guest, Shri Lalramsanga Sailo, Secretary of LESDE Department, commended the out going students for their determination and drive to succeed and highlighted the importance of ITIs in providing skills training to youth and addressing the problems of unemployment in the state. He stressed on the need for innovative business ideas using their hard earned National Trade Certificates including setting up small business, start ups and entrepreneurship to have a better future. He congratulated Govt ITI Aizawl, for consistently featuring among the top-performing ITIs in examinations and placements.
National Trade Certificates were distributed to the successful students and the Secretary handed over special prizes to the top scoring candidates, namely -
1. Ramnunsangi - Stenographer & Secretariat Assistant (English) (STENO)
2. Jerry PB. Laltanpuia - Computer Programming Assistant (COPA)
3. Ramengzauva - Computer Programming Assistant (COPA)
The event also featured the launch of ITI Magazine by Pi Angela Zothanpuii, Director of LESDE Department, who also presented awards to the winners of various competitions hosted in connection with India's G20 Presidency.
Currently, there are 419 students enrolled at Govt. ITI Aizawl. With a remarkable 98.02 pass percentage in the 2022-23 session, the institution ranks among the top ITIs in India.
Govt. ITI, Aizawl, is expanding its capacity to meet the demand for new skills and has recently introduced trade/course in Solar Technology. It is also planning to introduce courses in Drone Technology and Artificial Intelligence in the near future.
