Aizawl, the 21^st October 2020 : A meeting chaired by Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana today afternoon at SAD Conference Hall, MINECO to assess the COVID-19 situation decided to observe 'COVID-19 No Tolerance Fortnight' starting from October 26^th 2020 as a containment measure to stop the transmission of Covid-19.

Speaking at the meeting which was convened at a short notice, Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. R. Lalthangliana said that there would be zero tolerance for flouting any COVID-19 containment measures being implemented and enforced by the government. All Unlock Guidelines, all SOPs and all sections of the Mizoram Containment and Prevention of COVID-19 Ordinance, 2020 would be enforced very strictly, he added.

The meeting voiced its concerns regarding the opening of some classes (Class X and XII) in schools and also the increased vehicular traffic in Aizawl city and suggested that these need to be reviewed in a more detailed manner. District administrations have been advised to consult District Health authorities swiftly in case a need arises for declaration of containment zones within their respective jurisdiction.

State Executive Committee under Mizoram State Disaster Management Authority is expected to issue notification with regard to COVID-19 No Tolerance Fortnight.
