Smt. Keerthi Jalli, Deputy Commissioner, Cachar district, Assam called on Dr. H.Lalthlangliana, Deputy Commissioner, Kolasib district, Mizoram today to discuss on maintaining law and order along the bordering areas of the two states. The Deputy Commissioners held talks in the office chamber of DC Kolasib, in which S.P, Addl. DC, Addl. SP, DTO, DIPRO and other officials from both the districts were also present.

Smt. Keerthi Jalli expressed her gratitude in the mutual efforts given by the DC, Kolasib in maintaining law and order in the areas adjoining the two districts, highlighting that the cooperation from DC, Kolasib was very crucial for the conduct of free and fair election in Cachar district of Assam. Cachar DC particularly pointed out the need of cooperation in the control of contraband items, drugs and flow of currencies between the district borders and requested the DC, Kolasib to arrange Light Motor vehicles, which they are running short of, in the preparation for the upcoming election. 

On his part, DC Kolasib Dr.H.Lalthlangliana pointed out that all necessary information be shared between the two districts officials in order to build a lasting relationship and that he will do his best towards maintaining peace and harmony in the border areas to ensure peaceful conduct of election.

The officials from both the districts also shared their views and ideas in regard to maintaining peaceful atmosphere in the border areas and the meeting was concluded with a vote of thanks from Shri V.Aggarwal, Asst. Commissioner, Cachar district.
