Aizawl 25th August, 2021 : Dr. Lalrozama, IAS, DC Mamit today held a Meeting with various stakeholders- Officials and NGOs of Mamit town at the DC Conference Hall, Mamit regarding various issues and developments of Border disputes Covid-19 pandemic status, Bru Repatriation and Aspirational District Programme on-going process.

DC Mamit stated that all repatriated Bru families to Mizoram have been provided all financial assistance and ration as per the directives and guidelines of the Central Government. He also asserted that all the assistance processes being provided to the repatriated families will be completed by 30th November, 2021. He also highlighted various developments undertaken by Aspirational District Programme leading to various improvements in the sectors like Health & Nutrition, Education, Basic Infrastructure, Financial Inclusion. However, 23 Low Performing Villages have been identified in the District where much efforts have to be put in for their upliftment as a whole.

He also mentioned the current status of Covid-19 pandemic situation of the District grieving over the 2 deaths due to the Corona Virus. He urged the people of the District a continued maintenance of Covid Appreciate Behavior (CAB) and strict adherence to SOPs promulgated by the Government.

Both DC and SP Mamit briefed the Committee about the various developments and deployment of forces in and around the borders with the neighbouring State. They also sought cooperation from all members of the villages in the border areas in reporting illicit drug trafficking.
