As the State Election Commission (SEC), Mizoram has decided to undertake summary revision of the electoral roll for by-election to two village councils (VCs) under the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) for filling three vacancies, District Election Officer (DEO), Lawngtlai Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS published a draft electoral roll for these two village councils today at her office chamber and handed over the draft electoral rolls to representatives of the political parties.

As per the draft electoral roll, there are 288 voters (147 males and 141 females) in 26-Hmunnuam Village Council while there are 160 voters (69 males and 91 females) in 50-Kakichhuah Village Council. There is one vacancy to fill in Hmunnuam VC while there are two vacancies to fill in Kakichhuah VC.

Claims and objections regarding the draft roll can be filed during 2nd-4th November, 2019. The qualifying date for the roll is 1st January, 2019. Final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on 13th November, 2019.
