Aizawl, 12th May 2021: The Directorate of School Education today issued the following Order regarding opening of classes for the new Academic Session 2021-2022 :

In the interest of public service and in order to commence classes under lockdown imposed due to COVID-19, the following instructions are hereby issued with immediate effect and until further orders:

i) Physical opening of Schools in the new academic session of 2021-2022 for all classes (Pre-Primary to class XII) shall continue to be suspended until further instructions.

ii) Admission to schools can be taken up through online system.

iii) Normal classes for all students (Pre-Primary to Higher Secondary Schools) shall remain suspended until further orders.

iv) Online classes will be taken up wherever possible during the suspension of normal classes.

v) All schools/institutions shall strictly follow the prescribed norms for conducting online classes. Long hours and heavy workload should be avoided. No addition of syllabus, subject or book other than the ones framed or prescribed by the academic authority is allowed; and doing so in violation of this order shall invite appropriate action under rules and/or regulations.

vi) The ‘4-Week Alternative Academic Calendar for Elementary Schools in Mizoram’ prepared in 2020-21 by the SCERT will be utilised by all Elementary Schools during suspension of normal classes.

vii) The ‘Week-Wise Plan’ for Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools prepared in 2020-21 by the MBSE will be utilised by all Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools during suspension of normal classes.

viii) All hostels run by schools shall remain closed until further instructions.

ix) Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) prepared by the School Education Department shall be strictly followed.
