14th October, 2025 : A meeting of the Serchhip District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was held today at the DC Meeting Hall, chaired by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Pu Richard Vanlalhmangaiha. A total of 21 departments involved in Centrally Sponsored Schemes participated in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, MP Pu Richard Vanlalhmangaiha stated that the Government of India is aiming to make the country a developed nation by the year 2047. In light of this, the DISHA committee plays a crucial role in achieving this goal, he said. He expressed his appreciation to those present and praised the progress made by Serchhip District. He urged all departments to continue their efforts toward public welfare and national development.

Serchhip Deputy Commissioner Pu Paul L Khuma, who also serves as the DISHA Member Secretary, encouraged participating departments to discuss ways in which their various schemes could be effectively implemented, including through better coordination and convergence of activities.

Officials from various departments, including PHE, Supply, Samagra Shiksha, Agriculture, Horticulture, Mission Shakti, CDPO (Serchhip & East Lungdar), DPO, Chief Medical Officer, Lead District Manager, UD&PA, Power & Electricity, Commerce & Industries, PWD, Revenue, Rural Development, Fisheries, DLAO, Irrigation, AH&Vety, and NHIDCL, presented detailed reports of their ongoing and planned schemes and activities. They also highlighted their progress, challenges, and achievements.

The DISHA committee, set up by the Central Government, aims to foster effective coordination among departments and ensure that centrally sponsored schemes are implemented efficiently and transparently. Today's meeting marked the first DISHA meeting held in Serchhip District this year.
