Siaha the 4th September, 2024: District Consultative Committee (DCC)/ District Level Review Committee (DLRC) for the Quarter ended June 2024 and Special DCC for Quarter ended March 2024  was held today at the DC’s Mini Conference Hall Siaha under the chairmanship of Addl DC Shri Abraham Beiraza Khithie.

The meeting today adopted the  minute of the last DCC meeting since no request for amendment was received and also deliberated on various topics such as the performances and achievements of bank branches during the first quarter, drawing up proposals for the successful implementation of Central Sector Schemes and Financial Literacies. The gathering today stated that 7 bank branches are operational in Siaha district where 1 is a Public Sector Bank, 2 are Private Sector banks, 3 are Regional Rural Banks and 1 is a State Cooperative bank, with 6 ATMs and 36 Business Correspondents. 20 Financial Literacy Campaigns (FLC)  have been organised during April-June 2024 for scaling up financial literacy efforts to achieve financial inclusion. Performances of different bank branches under Social Security Schemes were also reviewed here including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). The gathering stated that Credit/Deposit Ratio was 94.86% for the 1st quarter and based on the Annual Credit Plan (ACP),  31.19% under Prioroty Sector and  472.29%  under Non-Priority Sector loans have been disbursed. 8 Self Help Groups under MzSRLM have been credited with bank loan amounting to Rs 19.94 lakh while Rs 3.85 lakh  have been disbursed under PMEGP. Rs 58.43 lakh for 19 individuals have been credited with Kishore loan under Mudra (PMMU) while Rs 76 lakh loans have been given to 13 individuals under Tarun.

The meeting today examined the cause of high non performing assets (npa) in the district and concluded that all efforts must be taken to rectify this issue. It also reminded the bank branches to conduct a Financial Literacy Campaign at least once a month in order to apprise the public of banking procedures and social security schemes available. Discussion on lending towards Government Sponsored Schemes, progress under SHG- bank linkages, Joint Liability Groups, KCC and position of SHG bank linkages, and timely submission of DCC Data by banks were among the topics being discussed today. 

The meeting today was attended by Lead District Manager Shri JM Soren,  Lead District Officer RBI Aizawl, representatives from NABARD, bank branches within the district, line departments and NGOs.
