In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 350 of the Mizoram Municipalities Act, 2007 read with Rule 10 of the Mizoram Municipalities (Election of Councillors) Rules, 2007, The State Election Commission, Mizoram has issued an order regulating entry inside polling booths for municipal elections, specifying the categories of persons permitted to be present during voting.

According to the directive, only the following individuals will be allowed entry into polling booths, by the Presiding Officer:

1. The electors;
2. Polling Officers;
3. One polling agent of each candidate at a time;
4. Persons authorized by the Commission;
5. A person accompanying a blind or infirm voter who cannot move or vote without help; and
6. Such other persons as the Presiding Officer may from time to time admit for the purpose of identifying voters or otherwise assisting him in taking the poll.
