Aizawl, the 14th April, 2021: Fire Service Day/ Martyrs Day was observed across Mizoram today in honour of the victims of 71 Fire Service personnel during an unfortunate mishap in 1944. Fire & Emergency Services Headquarters, Aizawl organized a ceremony at 7 am this morning. Similar functions were also held in all Fire Stations outside Aizawl, at 9 AM this morning.

14th April also marks the beginning of the Fire Service Week which is observed annually in India. The theme for this year's Fire Service Week is "Maintenance of Fire Safety Equipment Is Key to Mitigate Fire Hazards".
