In order to monitor the preparedness of the state election machineries and the state administration for the forthcoming state legislative assembly election in Mizoram, the full commission of the Election Commission of India(ECI) is visiting Mizoram on October 16 & 18. In this connection, Chief Secretary Sh. Arvind Ray held meeting with the concerned officials at CS' Conference Hall, this morning.
At the outset of the meeting, Sh SB Shashank, Chief Electoral Officer made a detailed briefing on the itinerary of the ECI during the official visit. It is expected that the full commission of ECI headed by Chief Election Commissioner of India Sh Om Prakash Rawat and the other two Election Commissioners Sh Sunil Arora and Sh Ashok Lavasa would be landing in Aizawl on October 16. They are going to be accompanied by 4 Deputy Commissioner of Election, 2 Director Generals and other supporting ECI officials. On 16th and 17th October, they would convene important meetings with the representatives of political parties, election officials, administrators and media persons.
