Aizawl 28th January 2023: G20 Chief Coordinator Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla and his team attended a cultural Evening-cum-dinner hosted by Mizoram Tourism Minister Shri Robert Romawia Royte at Chaltlang tourist lodge yesterday.

Thanking the officials and the organisers of the G20 meeting which is scheduled to be held on 2nd March 2023 at Aizawl, the Chief Coordinator appreciated the magnitude of thoughts and deliberations that went into preparing for the event. He believed that the thorough arrangement and preparation being undertaken by the Government of Mizoram will be one to be talked about for years to come. Complimenting the state for its beautiful nature and exquisite landscape, Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla expressed his hope that the G20 meeting will help promote the state’s potential and capabilities.

Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism Shri Robert Romawia Royte expressed his joy on Aizawl being chosen as one of the destinations for the meeting. The minister hoped that the start-up meeting will enhance not only trade and other economic development but also tourism potential in Mizoram. He pointed out that the state has been prioritizing fitness in line with Fit India Movement and also in improving the sports sector in the state among others. Declaring the fact that 5G services had been launched in Aizawl as of that day itself, the minister assured the team of full cooperation and commitment at all levels and asked them to look forward to a successful G20 meeting in Aizawl.

Chief Secretary Smt. Dr. Renu Sharma delivered a welcome speech at the evening programme, giving the G20 team assurance of full participation by the Government of Mizoram in hosting the meeting.
