Lt General KS Yadava met veterans and ex servicemen from Mizoram yesterday, at the Assam Rifles Range HQ at Khatla, while Mrs Meenakshi Yadava showed the benevolent side of the Assam Rifles by donating gifts and aid to inmates of the FIWDC Peace Home.
 
 
 
 
 
The General is the Director General of the Assam Rifles and is on a three day visit to Mizoram. During his interaction with veterans, he lauded their post-retirement role in integrating the people of Mizoram with the mainstream by personal example. General Yadava also visited Lunglei and Parva, where he interacted with important dignitaries, and also met the jawans of Assam Rifles. The General also gifted furniture and stationery items to orphanages run by the Salvation Army Church and Baptist Church in Lunglei.
Mrs Yadava, in her capacity as President of Assam Rifles Wives Welfare Association interacted with the wives and children of the soldiers and also inaugurated a children’s park at the Range HQ. Inmates of the Durtlang FIWDC peace home performed a short cultural programme in her honour, and she presented them with gifts and aid, on behalf of the Assam Rifles.
