Lunglei the 16^th September, 2022 -  ‘Go To The People’- a people-centric scheme to deliver Government services at the doorsteps of citizens in far flung areas was implemented today at Tawipui S village in Lunglei District. The Scheme was initiated in Lunglei District from November last year through the efforts of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, and so far has had successful runs at Huaruang and Thenhlum villages in Lunglei District.

At a short inaugural function held at Tawipui S High School, Lunglei DC Shri Kulothungan A thanked the participating Government Departments for extending their cooperation towards successful implementation of the Scheme, and expressed hope that the scheme would go a long way in fostering a culture of good governance for the District. “It is very difficult for villagers to keep traveling to the District capital for their different requirements from the Government, and I hope that many issues faced by citizens will be resolved today,” the Deputy Commissioner stated, while also thanking the Village Council leaders and NGOs for their support in implementing the project.

The program was greeted with much enthusiasm by citizens, with hordes of people from Tawipui S and neighbouring villages gathered to avail the various services on offer by the Departments.
