Aizawl, the 20th November 2024: The Government of Mizoram re-constituted the 'Working Committee to look into the maintenance and management of Lengpui Airport' with the following composition :-
Chairman: Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, MLA & Adviser to Chief Minister (Finance & Planning)
Member Secretary: Commissioner & Secretary, GAD
Members:
1) Secretary, P&PI Department.
2) Secretary, Home Department.
3) Secretary, Law & Judicial Department.
4) Addl. Secretary, Finance Department. (EA/E)
5) Director, GAD, Aviation Wing.
The Chairman may co-opt any other official/non-official as invitee in the deliberations of the Working Committee as may be deemed necessary. The non-official members, if any, may be given sitting allowance of Rs. 1,000/- per sitting.
Terms of references:
1. To further explore the feasibility of handing over of Lengpui Airport to the Indian Air Force.
2. To prepare a draft memorandum of agreement for handing over of Lengpui Airport to the Indian Air Force.
3. The tenure of the re-constituted Working Committee will be 3 months from the date of its first sitting.
