Aizawl the 25th April 2023: Governor Dr.Hari Babu Kambhampati facilitated and presided over the meeting between the team of LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and the team of State Health Department, Zoram Medical College (ZMC), National Health Mission (NHM), Synod Hospital and Eye Care Hospital at the Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan on yesterday afternoon.

At the outset,Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati thanked the representatives of LV Prasad Eye Institute,Hyderabad for their selfless devotion to the needy and providing excellent healthcare services to the country. He also expressed his appreciation of the Institute for showing their intent and willingness to explore possibilities of collaboration with the Health Department, Government and private Hospital in Mizoram.

Dr.G.N.Rao,founder of the LV Prasad Eye Institute gave presentation on the organizational set up, vission, mission,various functions of the Institute and proposed plan of action in Mizoram. He further requested all the stakeholders in Mizoram for further cooperation.

Esther Lalruat Kimi, Principal Secretary, Health Department elaborated the various prospects of healthcare sector in the state and initiatives taken by the Government.This was followed by presentations from the ZMC, the NHM, the Synod Hospital and Eye Care Hospital respectively.

The Possible areas of collaborations and cooperation were deliberated during the meeting which includes- specialised trainings of the ophthalmologist, optometrist and nurses training. Introduction of new machines and equipments,innovative community eye care programs and applications of new technology in the field of eye care .

To come up with more areas of collaboration, LV Prasad Eye Institute will visit ZMC tomorrow and another meeting will be held with all the stakeholders from Mizoram at the earliest.

LV Prasad Eye Institute,Hyderabad is a Non-Profit Organization (NGO) established in the year 1987.Having 275 centres across India,currently they are the largest Eye Care Network in the world.
