Aizawl, the 9th August 2023: As a part of the ongoing celebration of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati as a chief guest, released the three books in three languages – Hindi, English and Mizo at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, today. The books are Heroes and anti-Heroes(English Version), Mizo Nataak – 2: Rani Ropuiliani(Hindi Version) and History of Mizo Literature( Mizo Version) written by Prof. Laltluangliana Khiangte, a Padmashree awardee and Senior Professor. The books h are dramatizations of heroism and patriotism based on Mizo History and about the evolution of Mizo Literature. Prof Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice Chancellor, MZU was the Guest of Honour.
After releasing the books, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, address the gatherings. He congratulated the author for his immense contribution to the field of Literature, especially in Mizo Literature. He appreciated the effort and proficiency of the author in bringing out the Mizo history, patriotism and literature to the mainstream. On the books, Governor commented that these books successfully narrated the paramountcy of patriotism and the greatness of loyalty and devotion to one’s land and its people. He also shared his appreciation for publishing in Hindi as he felt it is necessary to promote this language as a link language in Mizoram.
The program commenced with a welcome address by the writer, Prof. Laltluangliana Khiangte, Senior Professor, MZU. Prof R.Thangvunga(Rtd) previewed the book. Prof Dibakar Chandra Deka, Vice Chancellor, MZU was the other main speaker of the occasion. The program concluded with a vote of thanks.
