The Governor of Mizoram, Dr. Aziz Qureshi entertained children of Thutak Nunpuitu Team (TNT) in the sun filled lawns of Raj Bhawan this afternoon.

It was primarily an event to listen to the Mizo choir which is becoming world renowned. It was also his first informal social interaction with his personal staff. Two visitors to Mizoram, Dr. Syeda Hameed, former Member of Planning Commission and Dr. K.L. Mehra, Emeritus Professor of Mathematics, University of Alberta, Canada both close family friends, were also greeted by the Governor and residents of Aizawl on this occasion.

Interacting with the children the Governor said, “In a world full of turmoil and unrest, these beautiful voices of innocent children will create harmony and healing. Mizoram is a microcosm of the plurality and secularism of our country and all other suites need to learn from it.”

The visitors, who had personally been escorted by the Governor to the Helipad and Aizawl Theological College late last night said they had never seen as spectacular a sight anywhere in the world.

Governor Dr. Aziz Qureshi donated a sum of Rs. 50,000 to the children of TNT and his friend Dr. K. L. Mehra donated Rs. 10,000 as charity on the occasion.
