Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai flagged in and welcomed the returning contingent of the 46 Assam Rifles' organised National Interactive Tour  2019 who had just visited Delhi, Dehradun and Mussoorie during the period of December 2 to 14 at the Loch Hall, 46 Assam Rifles today.

In his welcoming speech, the Governor had congratulated the team and the Assam Rifles for having successfully conducted a meaningful national Interactive tour which he believed would benefit all the selected students involved immensely. Reciting Gandhiji's successful experiment of nationwide tour of India before joining the National Movement he  had  emphasized the effectiveness of  travelling widely and experiencing others' cultures as an effective exercise for national integration. In this connection, he had also made an appeal that a good citizen of India should  wholeheartedly accept the spirit of 'Unity in Diversity' and never regard the diversified nature of our country as weakness but rather consider it as the blessing and richness.

During their trip the National Interactive Tour team had visited important landmarks in Delhi, Dehradun and Mussoorie. They had witnessed Gentlemen Cadets' Passing Out Parade at Indian Military Academy. They had also visited and had interactions at Lal Bahadur Shashtri IAS Academy, ITBP Academy and Forest Research Institute. The team were also fortunate to have an audience with the renowned writer Ruskin Bond.

The Flagged in and felicitation programme  thereafter was held at Loch Hall wherein the Tour Leader Major Arjun Thakur and two representatives gave their account on the trip. This was followed by a short report on the purpose and details of 46 Assam Rifles' organised National Interactive Tour from Col. Viplav Tripathi with the felicitation of the tour team members - 14 students and 2 teachers.
