Aizawl, the 11th June 2020: Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai and Lady Governor Reetha Sreedharan had planted the Tree Saplings on the occasion of Green Mizoram Day, 2020 in the premises of Mizoram Raj Bhavan, Aizawl, this forenoon.

Raj Bhavan compound is one of the few well maintained green patches within the city area. Raj Bhavan is also pleasantly surprised and excited to have welcomed a new resident animal: a Sloth that has recently arrived and chosen to stay here from out of nowhere.

Elsewhere in the state, the volunteers while maintaining social distancing are reported to have either planted the tree saplings or cleared the reeds and vegetation around the exisiting tree plantation within their residential premises and farms.
