Speaking at the launch, the Chief Guest expressed appreciation to the Deputy Commissioner, officials of the Health & Family Welfare Department and the LushAITech team for their collaborative efforts in bringing the application to fruition. He stated that the app would greatly ease access to healthcare services for residents of Lunglei and surrounding areas, and described it as a significant milestone not only for Lunglei but for Mizoram as a whole, noting that it is among the first of its kind in the North Eastern region. He also highlighted the Mizoram Government’s emphasis on healthcare and urged citizens to make full use of Mizoram Universal Health Carr Scheme.

Pu V. Malsawmtluanga further congratulated the district administration for receiving the National Award 2025 for Most Outstanding District in Implementation of the Accessible India Campaign, achieved through the initiative of Project LEAP for persons with disabilities. He also announced that the Lunglei HPC would provide ₹25 lakh for renovation of the DC Office building.

The programme was chaired by Pi Navneet Mann, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Lunglei, who welcomed the gathering and explained that the app was developed to ensure easier public access to essential healthcare services and to promote preventive health awareness, particularly among the youth. She noted that the application would be beneficial not only to residents within the district but also to visitors.

Dr Christina Zonunmawii, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Lunglei, presented a brief report on the progress of the Healthy Lunglei District Campaign, stating that over 40 health camps have been conducted across urban and rural areas, and that free health screening services are being regularly provided through the Health ATM at Civil Hospital, Lunglei. She encouraged the public to utilise the facility.

A live demonstration of the application was conducted by the LushAITech development team, who explained its key features. The LushAI Healthy Lunglei App enables users to view doctors’ consultation schedules at government hospitals and health centres across the district and book OPD appointments in advance. It also facilitates ABHA registration, medicine purchases through registered pharmacies and access to essential health information.

The application is built using advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI Agents, and includes an AI chatbot capable of assisting users with OPD bookings and responding to queries in the Mizo language. Developed using LushAITech’s latest AI model, the app is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms.

Additional features include locating nearby healthcare facilities, checking doctors’ availability, viewing pharmacy stock, uploading and accessing medical reports, and receiving automated appointment reminders. Users may cancel appointments up to 24 hours in advance. The platform also includes a web-based dashboard for administrators and medical staff to manage data efficiently.

The application is fully compliant with the Digital Information Security in Healthcare Act (DISHA), ensuring privacy, data security and adherence to national standards.

The Healthy Lunglei Campaign, launched on June 12, 2024, entered into a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on October 12, 2024. Since then, awareness programmes and screening drives have been carried out across Lunglei town and rural development blocks including Lungsen, Bunghmun and Tlabung, reaching over 2,000 beneficiaries with a focus on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and preventive healthcare.

As part of the broader initiative, Mizoram’s first Health ATMs were inaugurated on August 18, 2025, at Civil Hospital Lunglei and Primary Health Centre, Lungsen, further strengthening digital healthcare delivery in the district.
