HUGE SEIZURES OF CONTRBAND ITEMS

1. Heroin Worth ₹23 Lakhs Recovered by Champhai Police

On Dt. 1.8.2026 at around 11:30 AM, Champhai Special Task Force, along with Recruit Constables recovered 10 (ten) soap cases of Heroin, weighing 118 grams and having an estimated market value of approximately ₹23,60,000/- from Sumo vehicle en route to Aizawl at Khankawn Check Gate. The contraband item was recovered from the possession of Vanlalmuana (27), s/o Sangneihthanga, resident of Shanmyo, Tahan, Myanmar. Champhai PS Case No. 118/26 dt. 01/08/2026 u/s 21(b) NDPS Act r/w 21 of TI&F Act was registered and investigation is in progress.

2. Methamphetamine Worth ₹7.83 Crores Recovered by Champhai Police

On Dt. 1.8.2026 at around 1:30 PM, the Champhai Special Task Force, along with Recruit Constables recovered 10 bundles of Methamphetamine weighing 9.796 kg, estimated to have a market value of ₹7,83,68,000/- from TATA truck (MZ-04-8669) proceeding from Champhai towards Aizawl. The vehicle was driven by Vanlalruatsaka (32), S/o Ralhleia (L), Melbuk, Champhai District. Champhai PS Case No. 119/26 dt. 01/08/26 u/s 22(c)/25 NDPS Act was registered. Investigation is in progress.

3. Heroin Seizure by Special Narcotics PS

On Dt. 1.08.2026 a team of Special Narcotics PS recovered and seized 241.21 grams (20 soap cases) of suspected Heroin at Zemabawk from the illegal possession of Hussain Ahmed Laskar (23) s/o Rafik Uddin Laskar and Noor Ahmed Laskar (34) s/o Fakar Uddin Laskar, both residents of Cachar District, Assam who were arrested on the spot. A Mahindra Bolero Pick up (AS-11/GC-4767) used for transportation of the contraband was also seized. Hence, SNPS Case no. 23/26 Dt.01.08.2026 U/S 21(b)/25/29(1) ND & PS Act, 1985 was registered and further investigation is in progress.
