Aizawl the 25th May, 2023 : Information & Public Relations Minister Pu Lalruatkima graced the “Graduation Day” programme of Tuikual High School held at Tuikual South YMA Hall, yesterday.

The Chief Guest congratulated the successful students and attributed their achievements to their hard work and the dedication of their teachers. He emphasized the importance of education as a key to unlock an individual's potential, enabling them to become great and influential leaders. Pu Lalruatkima reflected on the past, highlighting how villages that recognized the value of education and respected teachers experienced rapid progress. However, he acknowledged that in the present era, our value system is changing rapidly, and our heroes and idols may differ. He stressed the need for society to learn to respect and admire the right individuals, emphasizing the importance of aligning our values with those who contribute positively to society.

The Minister encouraged the students to strive for excellence, emphasizing that the world they live in operates on the principle of "survival of the fittest," where only the strong succeed and the weak struggle. He urged them to stay informed by reading newspapers, watching news on TV, and reading good books to expand their knowledge and awareness. Recognizing that the government cannot provide enough jobs for everyone, he encouraged the students to explore opportunities beyond government employment. He stressed the importance of education, highlighting that being well-educated and skilled is essential for success in their chosen fields. By acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills, Pu Lalruatkima urged the students to be prepared for the competitive nature of the world and to strive for success in their endeavors.

The I&PR Minister highlighted the concerning trend of diminishing respect for elders and parents among the youth in today's rapidly changing society. He emphasized that honoring and respecting elders is a fundamental value in Mizo society. The Minister urged the students to embrace their role as torchbearers of the Mizo ethos, encouraging them to uphold the traditions and values of their community. He specifically emphasized the importance of staying away from drugs and alcohol, urging the students to make wise choices and prioritize their well-being and the well-being of their society.

The Minister drew attention to the negative consequences of excessive and undisciplined use of social media, particularly among the youth in Mizoram. He advised the students to avoid becoming overly absorbed in social media and instead prioritize their studies and engage in productive activities. The Minister emphasized that in today's highly competitive world, success can only be achieved through hard work and dedication. By focusing their time and energy on meaningful pursuits, the students will have a better chance of achieving their goals and aspirations.

Out of the 65 candidates from Tuikual High School who appeared for the HSLC examination this year, 48 students successfully cleared the examination. They currently have a total enrolment of 155 students.

The felicitation programme was chaired by Pu H.Rammawi, Chairman, Tuikual High School Managing Commmittee. Successful students were presented with certificates and chest pins.
