The 8th March is International Women's Day 2020. But since it falls on Sunday this year, it was observed today at Lawngtlai DC Conference Hall under the auspices of SDO (Sadar) Pu V. Lalruatliana, MCS jointly organised by DAY-NULM, One Stop Centre and Mahila Shakti Kendra.
Powerpoint presentations were given by One Stop Centre (Sakhi)'s District Centre Administrator Pi J. Lalremkimi on One Stop Centre and Women's Right, Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK)'s Women Welfare Officer Pi Jeneth Vanlaldingpuii on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Women Scheme, Advocate Pi Shiela Laldinpuii Hnialum on several laws for protection of women, and DAY-NULM's District Manager Pi Kerry V.L. Hmangaihzuali on various schemes under NULM.
The function was attended by office bearers of LWA General Headquarters, Lawngtai and two members each from the branches, office bearers of MHIP Sub-Headquarters and two members each from the branches, anganwadi workers and helpers within Lawngtlai town and ALF members under DAY-NULM.
