International Women’s Day 2020 was observed this morning in Kolasib with members of the Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP) Sub-Headquarters, Kolasib taking up cleanliness drive in and around Kolasib town.

The program was organized by Mahila Shakti Kendra, Kolasib district in collaboration with UD&PA and MHIP Sub-Headquarters, Kolasib where members from 11 MHIP town branch took part in cleaning the town area. The program continues with awareness discussion on Government initiatives in protecting the rights and upliftment of women through Mahila Shakti Kendra, Swadhar Greh and One Stop centre. Campaign on Environmental Conservation through Waste Management was also carried out by Timothy R Lalhmangaiha, District Urban Development Officer who pointed out that Plastic & Solid Waste Management Rules will soon be implemented in the district where waste will be converted into an important resources, which will be more friendly to the environment as well.
