Aizawl the 22nd March, 2022 : A 2-day Competition, ‘KAWTCHHUAH 2022: A start-up fair for Govt. I.T.I pass-outs’, an initiative to provide financial assistance to the deserving ITI Pass-outs, was inaugurated today at Govt. ITI Campus, Aizawl. Organised by Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Department, the competition received 61 applications in different trades provided by Industrial Training Institute.
Shri Lalramsanga Sailo, Secretary, LESDE, who graced the inaugural ceremony as Chief Guest, said that the programme intended to inculcate entrepreneurial culture among the Mizo youth in the State. ‘Kawtchhuah’ will help identify and provide platform for ITI pass-outs, having potential to venture out their respective skills while nurturing their prospective skills in entrepreneurship, he added. KAWTCHHUAH draws essence from the depiction of ‘kawtchhuah’ from Mizo folklore, where it represents the place where farmers and workers gathered together for the start of their day's work. As the name implies, competitors will be encouraged to make use of this platform as a stage to nurture their skills for becoming self-sustained in the future. Deserving winners selected by Members of Selection Panel Board will be rewarded a one-time start-up seed of Rs. 50,000/- each.
Shri K. Lalhmingliana, Director, LESDE, as Chairman of the programme said that while the nation is targeting towards making India the skill capital of the world, Mizoram's youth have the potential to contribute to the success in achieving this goal. Miss Jordanthangi, Employment Officer, gave a brief introduction about the preparation of the competition and pointed out that KAWTCHHUAH 2022 is a pilot project where the success of this competition will be measured by the achievements made by the selected winners in the future. Hence, the Department will carefully monitor the winners in implementing their project. Dr. JT Vanlalngheta, Jt. Director, LESDE concluded today' programme with a vote of thanks.
