Aizawl, the 10th July 2023: Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati held a meeting with the officials of Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at the Raj Bhavan today. In this meeting, Governor discussed with the KVIC officials on how various schemes implemented through their office can boost village-level economic activities in the state.

At the outset of the meeting, Shri Ashish Modak, Deputy Director, KVIC State Office gave detailed PowerPoint presentations on the implementations of Khadi Vikas Yojana(KVY), Prime Minister Employment Generation Program(PMEGP), Gramogyog Vikas Yojana(GVY) and SFURTU scheme.

After going through the presentations, Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati suggested the KVIC officials do more work on awareness of the schemes to the target beneficiaries. He also recommended that the beneficiaries should be advised to select the industry based on the availability of raw materials in the state.

On the role of the banks in sanctioning the margin money to support the beneficiaries, Governor shared his appreciation of the performances of the PSU Banks like MRB, SBI and MCAB.  At the same time, he had also expressed his dissatisfaction with many private banks in Mizoram that received huge deposits from the state government but showed no interest in supporting schemes under the government.  He thanked the KVIC for their continued support given to the small business units and stakeholders from the villages. He urged them to improve their media handling skills to reach the masses that are not yet aware of various beneficiary schemes under their Ministry.
