Dated Kolasib the 8th March 2021: International Women’s Day was celebrated today at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Complex, Kolasib, which was attended by members from Women Self Help Groups of Kolasib district.

Dr.Michelle C.Lallawmkimi, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Kolasib, spoke on the important role of women in different walks of life, encouraging the SHG women to increase their participation in activities related to livelihood. Various subject experts also spoke on the topic ‘Women Leadership in Agriculture: Entrepreneurship, Equity and Empowerment’ as part of the International Women’s Day celebration.

The function was chaired by Ms. Lalrinpuii, Program Assistant, KVK and awards were handed out to the SHGs having good performance during the year 2021-21. Essay and Painting Competitions were also organised as part of the celebration
