District Water & Sanitation Committee (DWSC), Lawngtlai organised a function yesterday at DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai for launching of Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2019, a village level cleanliness competition and for celebration of Swachh Prerak Day. It was attended by officers and staff of PHED, members of DWSC and representatives of WATSAN Committee of various localities within the District. 

The Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2019 was launched for rural part of Lawngtlai District by Pu B. Lalchhawntluanga, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner who lauded the success of Swachh Bharat Mission and invited the gathering to work towards cleaner Lawngtlai District.

In this function chaired by Pu Benjamin Lalrinzuala, District Consultant, SBM (G) Lawngtlai, Er Netralal Jaisi, Executive Engineer, PHED and Member Secretary of the DWSC delivered a keynote address.

Cheural was awarded the cleanest village of rural Lawngtlai District, while Hmunlai and Lunghauka bagged the second and the third prize respectively. 10 top performing WATSAN Committees and 10 top performing Swachhagrahi (sanitary volunteers) were also handed award/incentive.
