Lawngtlai, 8th October 2026: A meeting to review the road conditions and ongoing road-related works in Lawngtlai District was held today at the Office Chamber of the Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner Shri  Donny Lalruatsanga.

Addressing the meeting, Shri Donny Lalruatsanga welcomed the officials and representatives present and stressed the need to make every effort to ensure good road connectivity across the district. He stated that good road connectivity is essential for overall development and emphasized that road-maintaining agencies must work with commitment, keeping in view the needs and difficulties faced by the public.

He noted that heavy rainfall during the monsoon had caused considerable damage to roads across the district, making it difficult to carry out road works effectively. With the monsoon gradually receding, he urged all concerned agencies to intensify and continue their efforts to improve road conditions.

During the meeting, NHIDCL informed that landslides along NH-502A and NH-02 had been cleared as far as possible. Brahmaputra Infrastructure Ltd. reported that repair and maintenance works on the KMMTTP Road were currently underway. PMPL stated that landslides along the Lawngtlai–Zero road stretch had been cleared to the extent possible.

ABCI reported that a landslide had occurred at Thingkah and that the affected portion had already been cleared. BRTF also stated that road maintenance works on the roads under its jurisdiction in Lawngtlai District were being carried out to the extent possible.

PWD (Road) presented the overall status of ongoing road construction works under PMGSY and informed that the works were continuing. The contractor engaged for the Diltlang–Chawngte ‘P’ road also reported that works had continued even during the monsoon and were still in progress. The contractor expressed hope that the work could be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The meeting was attended by the SE, PWD (Multimodal); Commanding Officer, 71/RCC; EE, PWD (Road); General Manager, PMU, NHIDCL; Sr. General Manager, ABCI, Tawipui North-II; Project Manager, PMPL; Manager, RDS; Manager, Brahmaputra Infrastructure Ltd.; and representatives of the Diltlang–Chawngte Road Contractor.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed his appreciation to all the officials and representatives for their participation and concluded the meeting.
