Lawngtlai, 15th November 2025: In preparation for the forthcoming 12th General Election to the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), District Election Officer (DEO) Shri Donny Lalruatsanga convened a meeting with officials of the Mizoram Public Works Department (MPWD) and contractors at his Office Chamber today.

Shri Donny Lalruatsanga began by expressing his appreciation to all concerned for their cooperation and active involvement in the ongoing election preparations. He highlighted the crucial importance of ensuring proper road connectivity for the smooth and efficient conduct of the LADC Election 2025. Since election officials must reach their assigned polling stations on time, he stressed that road conditions—especially those in remote areas—must be improved and kept motorable.

He requested MPWD officials to prepare detailed reports on road status, road access, and the types of vehicles that can operate on specific routes. These reports are to be submitted promptly to his office  for further necessary action. He also urged MPWD and the contractors to identify any challenges and submit timely updates so that the election can be conducted smoothly and without delay.

Election Officer Shri  Collin Hlychho also called upon MPWD officials and contractors to extend full support to avoid any disruptions and to coordinate closely with election officials whenever required. He emphasized the need for effective communication and cooperation to overcome difficulties.

The meeting was attended by officials from the MPWD Lawngtlai Division, MPWD Multi-Modal Project Division, as well as representatives from ongoing road construction agencies including Shri Balaji Construction Company and 71 RCC.

The meeting concluded with a note of thanks from the DEO.
